*STAFF ATTORNEY – Las Vegas and Reno Offices*

*ABOUT US:*

Nevada Disability Advocacy & Law Center (NDALC) is a private, statewide, non-profit organization serving as Nevada’s designated Protection and Advocacy (P&A) agency. NDALC is part of a nationwide network of P&A agencies that advocate, empower, and protect individuals with disabilities.

*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*

· Active Nevada State Bar license, in good standing.

· A commitment to enforcing and expanding the rights of people with disabilities across Nevada through individual and systemic advocacy.

· Ability to work occasional weekends or after hours.

· Ability to communicate effectively; both orally and in writing, with or without reasonable accommodation(s).

· Ability to conduct research and analysis complex problems and develop creative solutions.

· Ability to work both independently and with NDALC project teams with appropriate supervision.

*RESPONSIBILITIES:*

· Develop, monitor and ensure compliance with policies/procedures related to client services and case handling.

· Participate actively in weekly case review and grant specific team meetings.

· Maintain, organize and update client files with updated client and project notes.

· Provide direct client representation in negotiations, mediations, judicial and administrative proceedings.

· Represent NDALC on boards, Commissions and Committees as directed by the Executive Director.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervising Rights Attorney or the Executive Director

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS or REQUIREMENTS*:

· Active Nevada State Bar license, in good standing.

· Successfully complete state/federal background check(s) and any additional security level requirements required under our individual grantor programs

· Demonstrated ability to work with and/or have sensitivity to people with disabilities
