Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Location: Dixon, Illinois Schedule: Full-Time | 12-Hour Night Shifts | 72 Hours Biweekly | Every Other Weekend Pay Range: $31.49–$37.05 per hour Night Differential: +$4.00 per hour Weekend Differential: +$3.25 per hour Sign-On Bonus: $20,000 with a two-year commitment Openings: 2 New Graduates: Welcome to apply Job Overview A leading healthcare organization is seeking Respiratory Therapists to join its Respiratory Therapy team in Dixon, Illinois. The Respiratory Therapist will provide both basic and advanced respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Working under the medical direction of Respiratory Therapy leadership, the therapist will assess patient needs, develop and implement respiratory care plans, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and modify care based on each patient's clinical response. Responsibilities Provide basic and advanced respiratory therapy services to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients Assess patients' respiratory status and determine appropriate respiratory care needs Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans according to physician orders and established protocols Evaluate patient response to therapy and modify treatments within scope of practice Administer respiratory treatments and therapies safely and effectively Monitor patients for changes in respiratory status and communicate concerns promptly to the appropriate clinical team Exercise independent clinical judgment within the Respiratory Therapist scope of practice Make accurate clinical observations and communicate findings to physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary team Operate respiratory therapy equipment according to established safety and clinical standards Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and department policies Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care Participate in rotating weekend coverage Perform other Respiratory Therapy responsibilities as assigned Qualifications Required Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program Current Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner license or eligibility to obtain required state licensure Current NBRC respiratory therapy credential Successful completion of applicable NBRC examinations required for professional credentialing Strong respiratory assessment and clinical decision-making skills Ability to provide respiratory care to patients across the lifespan Ability to work independently within established clinical protocols Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend Credentialing Candidates may hold qualifying NBRC credentials as a: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Qualified new graduates must successfully complete the required NBRC examinations and meet Illinois licensure requirements. Preferred One or more years of Respiratory Therapy experience Previous acute-care hospital experience RRT credential Experience caring for neonatal or pediatric patients Experience using Epic electronic medical records Benefits & Incentives $20,000 sign-on bonus with a two-year employment commitment Competitive hourly compensation
