IT Specialist I

The I.T. Specialist I supports and enhances the organization's technology services through technical support, ticket intake and resolution, reporting, systems administration, and technology operations. This role coordinates user lifecycle management across multiple platforms, maintains compliance documentation, analyzes IT service metrics, supports technology projects, and contributes to strategic technology planning and continuous improvement initiatives. This I.T. Specialist I ensures data accuracy between systems, supports regulatory compliance requirements including CARF accreditation standards, protects PHI and other sensitive information, and provides technical guidance and training to employees. This position serves as a key resource in maintaining reliable, secure, and efficient technology services throughout the organization. Role And Responsibilities Manage employee onboarding and offboarding across multiple platforms including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, EHR systems, and HRIS platforms. Analyze IT service requests, ticketing data, and operational metrics to identify trends, establish performance baselines, and recommend process improvements. Prepare monthly reports for IT leadership, including asset management reports, ticket analysis, system utilization data, and other operational metrics. Maintain a secure technology environment to protect PHI and other sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA and organizational requirements. Contribute to CARF compliance activities and maintain required IT documentation, including the Technology and Systems Plan, Disaster Recovery Plan, Business Continuity Plan, and related compliance materials. Provide technical support to employees and residents by troubleshooting hardware, software, network, system access, and connectivity issues. Provide initial to intermediate technical support for network infrastructure, business applications, hardware, telecommunication systems, mobile devices, printers, and related technology resources. Monitor assigned systems and applications to ensure performance, functionality, availability, and data integrity. Manage IT equipment inventory and coordinate procurement, deployment, replacement, and disposal of technology assets. Maintain accurate records, documentation, and system data while ensuring consistency across supported platforms. Assist with the implementation, testing, maintenance, and support of new technology solutions, software applications, and system upgrades. Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, training materials, and user guides. Provide end-user training and guidance regarding organizational technology systems, cybersecurity awareness, and technology best practices. Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve technical issues and support organizational technology initiatives. Assist with technology-related projects, system deployments, workstation setup, office relocations, equipment installations, and other operational technology functions as needed. Participate in disaster recovery, business continuity, cybersecurity, and risk-management initiatives as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational operations and technology needs. Qualifications And Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered. One (1) to three (3) years of experience in IT support, help desk operations, systems administration, or a related technology role. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred based on business needs. Preferred Skills Experience supporting healthcare technology environments. Experience with healthcare EHR/EMAR platforms (Sandata, CareConnect, or similar systems). Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration, Active Directory, Entra ID, and user account management. Experience supporting HRIS and workforce management systems such as UKG or similar platforms. Knowledge of networking concepts, endpoint management, and troubleshooting methodologies. Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security requirements. Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Working Conditions & Physical Demands: This position is primarily sedentary and requires prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, and performing repetitive keyboard and mouse functions. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with staff, vendors, residents, and end users in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication. The position requires occasional standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling technology equipment and related materials weighing up to 40 pounds. Travel between company locations may be required to provide on-site technical support, maintenance, equipment deployment, and project assistance. Work is performed in office, residential, clinical, and Eisenhower Center Adult Foster Care environments. The employee will have regular exposure to residents receiving services in an adult foster care and behavioral health setting and may interact with residents exhibiting behavioral challenges. The employee may occasionally work in server rooms, telecommunications closets, equipment storage areas, or other technical environments. Occasional work outside normal business hours may be required to perform system maintenance, upgrades, technology implementations, emergency troubleshooting, cybersecurity response activities, or other critical operational support. The employee may be required to respond to urgent technology outages or operational issues that impact resident care, safety, compliance, or business continuity.
