MRI Tech - Sign-on Bonus!

Job Summary Primarily performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) exams including basic cardiac procedures. Ensures quality standards are met and promotes continuous quality improvement. Maintains current knowledge of MR technology and equipment. Responsible for patient safety, including pre‑screening for implants, researching clearance if needed, aseptic injection technique for contrast administration, and modeling the hospital core values and excellent communication and customer service skills. Acts as a knowledge resource for students, technologists, and others. Job Duties Produces examinations that meet image quality standards while verifying patient information and documenting in EPIC and PACS. Communicates changes to schedule or potential issues via Voalte or phone. Provides coverage as needed (call, holiday, off‑site, schedule adjustment). Ensures quality control procedures are performed, scanners restarted, hard drive capacity monitored, and image quality meets departmental standards. Actively participates in multidisciplinary patient care, working closely with nurses, physicians, radiologists, 3D technologists, and anesthesiologists to achieve positive outcomes and maintain efficient workflow. Abides by institutional policies and accreditation procedures. Performs a variety of exams monitored biannually. Performs other assigned functions such as scheduling assistance, protocol development, image transfer, research support, etc. Essential Job Functions ARRT‑eligible in MR within one year of employment; certification must be maintained. Minimum one year MR imaging experience preferred; hospital setting is a bonus. Perform all basic MRI imaging procedures according to department standards efficiently. Follow MR safety procedures and participate in education and research. Manage assigned scanner efficiently by following scheduled appointments and protocol guidelines. Evaluate scanners in advance and verify implant clearance and protocol/exam correction before patient arrival. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Degree from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. Basic Life Support (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association. Strong critical‑thinking skills and versatile scanning capabilities with ability to make quick, accurate decisions and handle stressful situations calmly. Computer skills: competency in Epic, Microsoft Office 365, and department‑specific software. Strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication, problem‑solving, and teamwork in multidisciplinary settings. Maintain annual educational record updates. Demonstrated knowledge of modality‑specific quality control procedures. Other Skills Strong communication, empathy, emotional intelligence, resilience, time management, and organizational skills. Pay Range $40.00–$66.00 per hour. Base salary aligned with market rates and internal equity. Additional compensation may include hourly differentials, leadership incentives, and comprehensive benefits.
