Program Coordinator (Public Health Services) Interviews and job offers will take place beginning the week of August 3, 2026. Future Salary Increases June 2026 – 4.49% increase to base pay (3% Across-the-Board + 1.49% Market Adjustment) June 2027 – 4.49% increase to base pay (3% Across-the-Board + 1.49% Market Adjustment) Program Overview The Program Coordinator is a professional management level classification that provides administrative, analytical, planning, and management support for programs and projects where substantive administrative, policy and/or technical issues require specialized analysis, recommendation, and implementation. Current vacancies are in the Public Health Services (PHS) Department, HIV, STD, and Hepatitis Branch (HSHB) and PHS Administration; however, the list established from this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies in other departments. HIV, STD, and Hepatitis Branch (HSHB) The ideal candidate for HSHB has experience in public health program administration and prior supervisory experience including establishing work unit goals and objectives and supervising and monitoring work performance of staff; experience with project management, strategic planning, grant management, and program evaluation; strong political acumen and ability to work with internal and external partners; and experience establishing processes and procedures for workflow and providing technical/subject matter expertise. A master’s degree in public health is desirable. Public Health Services Administration The ideal candidate for the PHS Administration position will serve as the Workforce Director for the PHS department and will ensure PHS has a competent workforce that understands the basic public health principles that meet the Public Health Accreditation Board standards. The candidate has experience in workforce development and public health program administration, prior supervisory experience including establishing work unit goals and objectives and supervising and monitoring staff; experience with project management, strategic planning, grant management, and program evaluation; strong political acumen and ability to work with internal and external partners; and experience establishing processes and procedures for workflow and providing technical/subject matter expertise. A master’s degree in public health is desirable. Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or certified foreign studies equivalency, AND four (4) years of professional experience performing analysis, budget management, program administration, engineering, or closely related work in a program performing planning and analysis; OR a combination of education and/or experience as stated above. Hiring and Timeline Job Offer and Background Process begins August 3, 2026. Pre‑employment Medical Screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation. Anticipated Start Date: Based on successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date. Condition of Employment A background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre‑employment medical screening will be required prior to beginning employment. Current County employees may be excluded. Additional background investigations may be conducted based on job‑related activities. Evaluation Process Qualified applicants will be placed on a six‑month employment list based on scores from the supplemental questionnaire. Successful initial screening will lead to a review of the application for accuracy and qualification.
