Registered Nurse- M/S CDU 2S

Qualifications License/Certification Required: CA RN license BLS required Education Preferred: BSN, MSN, or enrollment in RN‑BSN program Benefits Benefits Eligible: Full‑Time Work Shift: Day – 12 Hour Shift (United States of America) Responsibilities The nurse's practice is guided by the Code of Ethics. Professional behavior, including interactions with co‑workers. Displays our values; treats everyone respectfully. Identifies high‑risk patients and initiates intervention of ancillary department. Decisions and actions on behalf of patients/residents are determined in an ethical manner. Maintains patient confidentiality within legal and regulatory parameters. Acts as a patient/resident advocate and assists patients/residents in developing skills to advocate for themselves. Delivers care in a non‑judgmental and non‑discriminatory manner that preserves patient autonomy, dignity and rights. Utilizes nursing process – assessed via direct observation, peer reviews, audits, and documentation. Assessment: successful completion of Physical Assessment validation. Diagnosis, Planning, Outcome identification, Implementation, Evaluation. Uses results of quality of care/performance improvement activities to initiate changes in nursing practice. Collects clinical data to monitor quality and effectiveness of nursing care. Identifies aspects of care important for quality monitoring; formulates recommendations to improve nursing practice or patient outcomes. Assists in development and implementation of policies, procedures, and practice guidelines to improve quality of care and nursing practice. Participates on interdisciplinary teams that evaluate clinical practice or health services relating to patient/resident care. Participates in QI studies: involved in task force or committee. Implements suggestions for improving outcomes per unit study results. Independently identifies problematic areas and recommends problem solving. Shares findings of studies, audits with others. Seeks improvement independently. Collaborates and communicates with patient/resident, family, and other health care providers. Utilizes peer review and observation. Monitors documentation for appropriate referrals. Formulates the plan of care and involves patient/residents in decisions related to care and the delivery services. Makes referrals, including provisions for continuity of care, as needed. Team Leader Responsibilities Primary clinical resource for staff on assigned unit. Acts as a role model and mentor for staff. Acts as the Nurse Manager Representative in absence. Provides leadership and support for staff through effective problem solving and decision making. Provides support, input on staff evaluations, orientation for new employees. Assures float staff receive orientation and feel welcome. Manages staff and patient flow: makes/adjusts staff assignments based on staff capabilities and patient needs. Assigns admissions and arranges transfers in coordination with Nurse Manager, House Supervisor and/or Bed Coordinator. Assures shift report starts on time, monitors breaks to provide adequate staffing. Determines staffing needs for the next shift and communicates these needs. Assigns staff to ensure equipment checks are completed (PCX controls, crash cart, refrigerator temps, red books, narcotic counts). Coordinates care in high‑risk/emergent situations and keeps management aware of critical patients and unit issues. Ensures collaboration between staff, physicians, other providers and departments involved in patient care on the unit. Keeps lines of communication open. Ensures patient care issues are documented and reported. Assures appropriate nurse completes Statement of Concern. Understands and utilizes Medical Staff and Kaweah Health's chain of command. Provides employee guidance and alerts Nurse Manager of counseling needs. Provides patient care as needed. Makes fiscally responsible decisions regarding staffing and use of patient supplies. Infusion Center Responsibilities Assigns patients to infusion chairs and initiates nursing intake. Educates patients on upcoming medications and therapies. Starts peripheral IVs or access Central Venous Access Devices (PICC, Port‑a‑Cath) lines. Administers infusions per physician orders. Monitors vital signs and patient status throughout treatment. Performs medication reconciliation and obtains patient history. Administers medications (IV, IM, SQ, PO), IV hydration, blood transfusions, and dressing changes. Completes all infusion documentation, discontinues IVs, provides discharge instructions. Maintains competency in IV therapy, infusion pumps, and emergency response procedures. Provides telephone triage and patient education on side effects, symptom management, and resources. Wound Center Responsibilities Communicates and collaborates closely with physicians, inpatient and outpatient nurses, and Wound Center staff to coordinate care. Functions as a case manager for assigned patients with responsibility to plan, implement and evaluate care for Wound Center patients. Ensures patients and families receive comprehensive education related to wound management and underlying health conditions. Works with appropriate autonomy in the wound center and hyperbaric setting. Acts as a resource to staff, management and other health team members regarding nursing practice for wound care. Facilitates staff development and education. Assists in developing and maintaining Wound Center policies and procedures. Complies with department requirements for continuing education and maintains active participation in hyperbaric related organizations. Completes Healogics training, competency assessments, and ongoing education as approved by Kaweah Health leadership. Supports and follows all relevant clinical protocols, operational procedures, documentation standards, and workflows outlined in Healogics Clinical Policies and Procedures. Works in alignment with program performance expectations, quality measures, and operational requirements established for the wound care program. Pay Range $46.44 – $69.66 per hour #J-18808-Ljbffr
