New Alternatives for Children, Inc. (NAC) is an award‑winning not‑for‑profit agency dedicated to serving children and families with medical complexities, chronic illnesses, and disabilities throughout the five boroughs. To assist in achieving this mission, NAC is currently seeking an Aftercare Supervisor to join its Aftercare Department. The goals of Aftercare are to prevent child abuse and/or neglect, achieve child safety, and ensure permanency in biological, adoptive, and kinship families. Through its three programs—Partners in Parenting, which serves birth families, and the Family Permanency Center and PLAN, which support adoptive parents and kinship caregivers—Aftercare provides targeted services to meet the unique needs of each population. These programs work to help children remain with their birth families, or, if this is not possible, to ensure they are adopted into loving homes and that the adoption or guardianship is not disrupted or dissolved. Aftercare is committed to ensuring that families have the ongoing support they need to avoid child welfare recidivism and maintain long‑term stability. By reinforcing progress made in prior services and offering continued preventive support, Aftercare serves as a vital safety net for the medically complex and behaviorally challenged children and families we serve. Position Details Title of Position: Aftercare Supervisor Position Type: Full‑time Salary Range: $67,000–$72,000 Location: 825 7th Avenue, New York, NY, 10019 Department/Program: Aftercare Responsibilities Provide clinical and casework supervision to 4 Master's‑level/Case Planners Guide and support supervisees in effectively prioritizing workloads to ensure timely, high‑quality service delivery Ensure that all required documentation (e.g., progress notes, intake assessments, service plans, and program forms) is completed accurately and in a timely manner Provide staff with guidance and support in the planning, facilitation, and management of monthly parent and youth support groups Assist with outreach and recruitment efforts to maintain collaborative relationships with referral sources and community‑based providers Accompany staff into the field for intakes, home visits, and other client‑related activities as needed to provide support and oversight Offer coverage for staff as needed, including managing cases or attending visits in their absence Monitor service quality and ensure adherence to program models, policies, and regulatory requirements Coordinate care and work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, pediatricians, nurses, education specialists, and fellow clinicians within a strength‑based, interdisciplinary team model Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to promote staff effectiveness and retention Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and program planning activities Assist in resolving complex cases and addressing clinical or operational challenges Required Education And Experience LMSW or LCSW from an accredited school required Three years Case Planning experience – or – Two years Case Planning experience and 1‑year supervisory experience SIFI (Seminar in Field Instruction) certified or eligible for SIFI certification Required Skills Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills Demonstrated self‑awareness and motivation to support team development Bilingual Spanish proficiency preferred (eligible for salary differential) Equal Opportunity Statement New Alternatives for Children, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
