We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to support inventory accounting and financial accuracy across a global apparel business in Los Angeles, California. This position plays a key role in tracking inventory activity, reconciling balances across multiple entities, and partnering with cross-functional teams to maintain reliable reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong cost accounting expertise, a sharp analytical approach, and the ability to manage detailed work in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities:
• Reconcile inventory balances across multiple entities and warehouse locations to ensure financial records remain accurate and complete.
• Record and review product receipts, shipments, returns, and transfers so inventory activity is properly reflected in accounting systems.
• Investigate variances between physical counts, operational records, and the general ledger, then coordinate resolution with internal stakeholders.
• Prepare inventory-related journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations as part of the monthly and quarterly close process.
• Maintain accounting support for intercompany inventory movements and confirm transactions are recorded in line with company policies and standards.
• Partner with supply chain, operations, finance, and external contacts to validate inventory movements and support reporting needs.
• Analyze inventory valuation, shrinkage, and obsolete stock trends to help management understand risk and performance.
• Contribute to improvements in inventory accounting processes and collaborate with finance and IT teams to strengthen system workflows and controls.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in cost accounting with substantial exposure to inventory accounting and multi-entity environments.
• Working knowledge of cost accounting principles, including standard costing and cost analysis.
• Proficiency with ERP or inventory accounting systems such as NetSuite or similar platforms.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to organize, analyze, and reconcile large data sets.
• Background in apparel, retail, manufacturing, or another inventory-driven industry is strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, sound problem-solving ability, and the capacity to manage priorities independently in a fast-paced setting.
