Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Level 2 Trauma experience and proficiency across multiple surgical specialties.

Job Details

• Operating Room setting within a hospital environment,
• 12-hour afternoon shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM,
• No weekend requirements,
• One 12-hour call shift required each week,
• 36-hour weekly guarantee,

Job Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required (verified via LARA and/or Nursys),
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required,
• Minimum 2 years of RN OR experience required,
• Level 2 Trauma experience required,
• Proficiency in Ortho, Vascular, Neuro, Gen/Gyn, and Urology required,
• Skills checklist current within 1 year, specific to Operating Room specialty required,
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required,

Additional Information

• Assess surgical patient needs and develop individualized care plans before and during procedures,
• Provide leadership and supervision within the OR team, coordinating schedule changes, equipment, and supplies,
• Assist anesthesia as needed and monitor the sterile field throughout procedures,
• Communicate with patients, families, physicians, OR team members, and ancillary departments,
• Participate in staff development through preceptorship, in-services, and continuing education opportunities,
• Recent travel nursing experience highly preferred,
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius, limited to one 13-week contract,
• Maximum of 5 days of requested time off allowed during the assignment
