Survey CAD Technician

Survey CAD Technician Advance your civil engineering design career where your work supports impactful land development and infrastructure projects across the Southeast. At Thomas & Hutton, you will work alongside experienced engineers and designers to develop detailed construction plans and technical drawings for a wide range of commercial, residential, and site development projects. What you bring Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering or Surveying – CST Level I or II (Office) certification preferred. 3+ years of surveying experience in preparing survey-related deliverables and project management in construction, boundaries, and topographic surveys. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D (v. 2020‑2024) and Carlson Software preferred. Proficiency in MicroStation and OpenRoads is a plus. Boundary and right‑of‑way resolution experience. Knowledge of surveying practices and procedures (field & office). Ability to work 7:00 am–5:30 pm Monday–Thursday; 7:00 am–11:30 am Friday with occasional overtime. Ability to read and interpret plats, deeds, easements, and plans. Must be able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. A valid driver’s license is required. Physical Requirements Ability to work in an environment that may contain venomous snakes and insects such as ticks, red bugs, wasps, bees, hornets, yellow jackets, etc. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to work in a wide range of temperatures. Ability to climb hills and walk long distances. Ability to traverse different types of terrain. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
