Technology and Media Specialist (9989) Evergreen Public Schools – Pacific Middle School, Vancouver, Washington. Position is permanent, part‑time, and scheduled for a 7‑hour school day (9:05 a.m. – 4:35 p.m.) with 30 minutes unpaid lunch. Expected start date: August 19, 2026. Role Overview Under the supervision of the Principal(s), the Technology and Media Specialist will support the operation of the library media center and manage the school’s 1:1 device program. Responsibilities include maintaining library records, processing new materials, assisting students and staff with technology, and collaborating with teachers on media‑integrated projects. Essential Functions Act as the primary point of contact for the Information Technology Department, staff, and student technology devices. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and the general public. Assist teachers in supervising students in the library media center and help students locate resources that support their research. Implement behavioral management strategies with students, as directed by teachers. Operate a computerized circulation and catalog system for check‑in/out, fines, overdues, data entry, and reporting. Manage the check‑in/out process for staff and student devices and report lost or stolen items. Coordinate with the District Asset Inventory Specialist and site Budget Secretary to maintain school asset inventory. Maintain communication and coordinate feedback with the Information Technology Department regarding staff and student devices. Help uphold district technology standards and usage policies. Perform minor repairs on staff and student devices, submitting Service Desk tickets when necessary. Assist students with library computers, including resetting passwords and accessing shared district folders. Schedule weekly check‑in meetings with each elementary classroom. Supervise and train adult volunteers and student library assistants. Perform minor repairs on books, such as taping, binding, and gluing. Process print and non‑print materials. Inventory and monitor curriculum resources, shelve returned books, and arrange materials according to the library’s classification system. Maintain bulletin boards and other media center displays as needed. Stay current on the overall operation of the library media center. Set up and troubleshoot media center computer presentation equipment. Prepare correspondence and perform clerical duties on the computer. Other Responsibilities Attend District meetings as required. Travel between locations to support assigned schools. Perform additional related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High degree of computer literacy (preferred). Demonstrated ability to work with media technology (preferred). Experience with minor computer repairs (preferred). Basic typing/keyboarding skills. Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal system. Working knowledge of library media center collections. Working knowledge of computer applications. Experience with computerized circulation and catalog systems (preferred). Strong organizational skills, initiative, ability to prioritize, and follow-through. Ability to operate office equipment listed in the tools section. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students and colleagues.
