Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to cardiac patients in a stepdown unit, monitoring cardiac rhythms and supporting patient recovery. Ensure clinical excellence through compassionate, evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor cardiac patients' vital signs, electrocardiograms, and overall clinical condition.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
• Document patient progress and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC).
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and their families on cardiac health, medication management, and discharge instructions.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and communicate effectively with healthcare staff during critical events.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid CA RN license uploaded to Nursys within the last 2 weeks.
• Possess at least 2 years of recent Cardiac/Telemetry nursing experience.
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications-uploaded with valid expiration dates.
• Be proficient in EPIC electronic health record system.
• Demonstrate strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Be able to work every other weekend, holidays as needed, with no call required.
