Vac Truck Helper Department: Civil/Environmental Employment Type: Full Time Location: Bossier City, LA Reporting To: Ryan Sweeney Compensation: $16.00 - $21.00 / hour Description Atakapa Services, LLC. (A Waggoner Company) is hiring a Vac Truck Helper in Bossier City, LA. Atakapa Services specializes in evaluating, maintaining and designing rehabilitation methods for sanitary sewer and storm drain infrastructure. We work with municipalities, wastewater utility contractors and engineering firms to inspect, clean, and rehabilitate their underground wastewater and drainage infrastructure. We provide a comprehensive range of services and reports to help our clients address the most complex sewer and storm drain operation and maintenance problems. Responsibilities As a Vac Truck Helper at Atakapa Services, you will play a crucial role in our operations by operating and maintaining vacuum trucks to ensure the safe and efficient removal of various materials. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Assist Operator of Vacuum Trucks: Safely assist the vacuum truck operator to collect, transport, and dispose of industrial waste, liquids, sludge, and other materials Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures during the operation of equipment Maintenance and Inspection: Conduct routine maintenance checks on vacuum trucks to ensure proper functioning Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify and address any issues promptly Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations Maintain accurate records and documentation related to each job and material disposal Communication: Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and clients to coordinate job tasks effectively Communicate any issues or concerns related to equipment or job site conditions promptly Emergency Response: Act as part of the emergency response team in case of spills or accidents, following established protocols Disaster response such as hurricanes Qualifications Experience assisting with vacuum trucks or similar equipment is a plus but not required Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively Must be willing to travel for jobs that require multiple days on location Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements is a plus but not required Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working in various weather conditions. Good physical fitness and stamina.
