Position Overview Under general supervision, the Maintenance Technician I will perform a variety of semi‑skilled maintenance duties—including inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair—within all CCH residential communities. Duties encompass work orders, general maintenance, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, appliance installation/repair, custodial functions, complete unit turnovers, and other related tasks. Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, install, test, monitor, repair and service equipment, components, building facilities and any other items. Identify and implement effective courses of action to complete a diversity of daily assigned work tasks. Ensure timely and accurate completion of resident work orders, active and preventative maintenance tasks, and maintain a detailed record/log of all actions. Coordinate work assignments with other teammates, residents or departments, as needed. Communicate with team, property manager, tenants and other parties about status of work in progress and/or completion. Operate necessary manual and electric tools and equipment, chemicals and supplies. Maintain the facilities storage area/shop area in a neat and organized fashion. Ensure consistent application of OSHA safety standards (hazardous materials, PPE, confined space entry, fire & emergency planning, lockout/tagout, etc.). Perform unit turnovers and/or evictions, including pre‑walk of units prior to resident moving out, communicating scope of work and timeline to property manager, and executing turn actions, including possible furniture/item removal and basic custodial functions. Assist in keeping the common areas of the community presentable, including trash removal and custodial duties. Operate and inspect CCH vehicles for transit to facilities for the respective duties and assignments. Adhere strictly to confidentiality policies according to resident rights regulations and courtesy. Assist the Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager on special maintenance projects. Observe all sections of the CCH property maintenance plan. Respond to any and all emergency situations as necessary. Report unusual and/or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property and/or residents to the property manager. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent education. Prior customer service experience working with homeless or low‑income populations preferred. Previous hands‑on maintenance experience highly preferred, especially in an apartment or multi‑family setting. Certifications in professional skilled areas of property maintenance preferred. Valid driver’s license required (may be waived based on overall candidate experience and current needs). Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
