Cetechs, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, is seeking a Food Service Worker to join our team at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Portland, Oregon. Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Practicing good customer service skills when interacting with patients, especially when delivering and retrieving meal trays from patient areas. When communicating with patients, staff are expected to speak kindly and treat patients with respect. Team members are expected to be professional and kind to all staff and patients.
• Performing tasks that include food assembly, tray delivery, and dishwashing.
• Completing cold food prep as well as assembling food/menu items such as individual nourishments, entrees, meats, starches, vegetables, breads, salads, desserts, beverages, condiments, tray ware, and serving utensils.
• Placing specified items on trays as listed on patient diet card and menus according to established portions.
• Delivering meal trays to patient wards and community living center (CLC) dining room on campus.
• Breaking down, cleaning, and restocking tray line after tray service.
• Performing a variety of tasks in the dish-room, such as scraping trays, sorting, stacking, racking tray ware for loading into the dish-machine, and pulling clean tray ware from the dish-machine.
• Placing clean pots and pans in designated areas.
• Emptying trash from kitchen areas to the waste receptacle located outside near receiving dock.
• Assisting Wage Grade-4 (WG-4) food service worker assigned to the ingredient control room, store food deliveries and supplies in walk-in refrigerators/freezers, and dry storage areas.
• Performing other duties as assigned to meet department needs.

Required Skills:

• Must be US Citizen
• Good customer service and food service experience

Minimum Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent
