Collections Specialist

We are currently seeking a Collections Specialist to join a growing Long-Term Care Pharmacy organization in East Syracuse, NY! This is a great opportunity for individuals with collections, outbound calling, customer service, or account resolution experience looking to join a stable and collaborative office environment. Previous healthcare or pharmacy collections experience is a plus, but not required - we are open to candidates with collections experience from a variety of industries!

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
• Must be available when the 2nd of the month falls on a weekend for month-end processing
• If a weekend day is worked, a weekday off will be provided

Responsibilities:

• Contact customers regarding delinquent accounts and outstanding balances
• Maintain consistent follow-up with customers until accounts are resolved
• Negotiate payment resolutions and assist with account reconciliation
• Perform detailed account audits to verify balances and billing accuracy
• Research and provide invoices, account documentation, and supporting records upon request
• Maintain accurate documentation of all account activity, including phone calls, letters, payments, and account notes
• Identify and correct account discrepancies or billing errors
• Assist with month-end reporting and processing workflows
• Create and maintain spreadsheets and reports to track collections activity and account status
• Assist in preparing accounts for attorney referral when necessary
• Support additional projects and administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• Previous collections or outbound calling experience required
• Healthcare or pharmacy collections experience preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable handling professional phone outreach and account discussions
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment
• Comfortable working collaboratively within a close-knit team setting
• Proficient computer skills and experience with spreadsheets/reporting preferred
