Equipment Repair Technician

Equipment Repair Technician (Open) Location: Norfolk, VA (RDA) - Welding equipment rental. Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm. Responsibilities Repair, refurbish, and maintain engine-driven welding equipment and generators under the direction of the Branch Manager. Assemble electric, diesel, gas, and propane equipment for rental, ensuring precision through testing and calibration. Restore and maintain all electric and engine drives to ensure peak performance. Repaint parts, touch up paint, and apply decals to maintain a professional appearance. Identify and update parts, complete essential preventative maintenance. Coordinate parts ordering to support efficient repair workflow. Inspect returned equipment for proper operation and necessary care. Use forklift, pallet jack, or other equipment to organize parts in the shop. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Prepare and complete documentation for all machine repairs. Provide occasional on‑site service to support equipment and customers. Communicate effectively with branch personnel and customers regarding equipment usage. Support field operations as needed to achieve business goals. Perform other related duties as a collaborative team member. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Preferred Qualifications At least 1 year of related technical experience (transitioning workers welcomed). Working knowledge of power generators and welding equipment. Strong organizational skills with a focus on thoroughness and care. Ability to multi‑task, thrive with autonomy, and stay connected to team goals.
