Contract Accounting Assistant

Location: Hyattsville, MD (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Contract Duration: Through the end of the year, with potential for up to 6 months

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Contract Accounting Assistant to provide temporary accounting and administrative support to their team. This role is ideal for someone with basic accounting knowledge who enjoys working with data, maintaining accurate records, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations.

The Accounting Assistant will primarily focus on data entry, invoice processing support, and assisting with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Enter and maintain accurate financial data into company systems
• Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities
• Input and organize invoice information and previously processed invoices
• Review data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies as needed
• Provide administrative support to the accounting team
• Assist with general accounting tasks and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in data entry, accounting support, or a similar role
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Experience working with invoices, financial records, or accounting systems preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage repetitive tasks efficiently
• Comfortable working onsite in a collaborative office environment
