Little Blind Spot is a full-service window treatment company that has been serving Twin Cities homeowners since 1978. As a family-owned Hunter Douglas Centurion dealer, the company provides design consultation, precision measurement, custom products, professional installation, and long-term service with one cohesive team. With showrooms in Hopkins and Woodbury, Little Blind Spot supports clients from first consultation through installation and ongoing service. The team focuses on in-home design advice, tailored product recommendations, and in-house installers who ensure quality, comfort, and ease of use. Little Blind Spot is known for building long-term relationships with homeowners who value getting window treatments done right. Position Summary: The Design Consultant meets homeowners in their homes, assesses each room, recommends window treatment solutions, prepares and presents the quote, and closes the sale. We provide the appointments. You will run eight to ten pre-booked, qualified consultations a week with no cold calling and no prospecting, in luxury homes across Wayzata, Edina, Orono, Woodbury, and Eden Prairie. Our approach is consultative, and we do not use urgency, scarcity, or discount pressure. This is a full-time role based out of one of our four Twin Cities showrooms, with daily travel to client homes. What Work Looks Like: You walk the rooms with both homeowners and look at how they live there. The west-facing window throwing hard light across the sofa at 3pm. The architectural line a treatment should show off instead of hide. The bedroom where privacy matters most. Then you cut everything that is possible down to two or three options that fit this home, and you say which one you would choose and why. You build the quote, present the full number without flinching, and ask for the order. About half of appointments close in the home. The rest come back through a follow-up cadence you run yourself. Qualifications: Strong customer-focused skills, including Customer Service and the ability to build trust and long-term client relationships. Proven Sales abilities in consultative selling, closing opportunities, and achieving or exceeding performance goals. Interior Design knowledge and experience working with space planning, color, light, and overall aesthetics. Familiarity with Furniture and Furnishings, and how window treatments integrate with broader home décor. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen actively and explain options clearly. Comfort working in clients’ homes, with attention to professionalism, punctuality, and respect for personal spaces. Strong organizational skills for managing appointments, documentation, and follow-up activities. Ability to learn and retain product knowledge, including Hunter Douglas offerings and motorized shade solutions. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel within the Greater Minneapolis–St. Paul Area. Prior experience in home improvement, retail design, or residential sales is beneficial but not required.
