This role maintains accountability for the coordination and delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while ensuring compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards governing dialysis services.The Nurse Manager fosters a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement through staff development, education, and role modeling. Utilizing expertise in dialysis care, case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration, the Nurse Manager ensures seamless, coordinated care for patients with end-stage renal disease and acute renal conditions across the continuum of care.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical & Operational LeadershipProvide leadership and oversight for all inpatient and outpatient dialysis operations, ensuring delivery of safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered careMaintain shift accountability and ensure continuity of care across dialysis treatment settingsCollaborate with nephrologists, hospitalists, advanced practice providers, social workers, dietitians, and technical staff to coordinate comprehensive dialysis careServe as a clinical resource and mentor to dialysis nursing and technical staffPatient Experience & Care CoordinationWork directly with the patient care team to identify, investigate, and resolve patient concerns and complaintsCommunicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient status, treatment plans, and outcomesProvide education and support to patients and families regarding dialysis treatment, care plans, and transitions of carePromote a patient-focused environment that supports dignity, safety, and cultural sensitivityStaff Leadership & DevelopmentPromote an atmosphere of collaboration, empowerment, accountability, and professional growthAssess, evaluate, and document staff competency, performance, and ongoing educational needsSupport recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and retention of dialysis nursing and support staffEnsure adequate staffing coverage through effective scheduling and staffing pattern developmentQuality, Safety & Regulatory ComplianceEnsure compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, including CMS Conditions for Coverage for ESRD, state regulations, and hospital policiesLead and participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities focused on dialysis outcomes, patient safety, and satisfactionMonitor and address quality indicators such as infection control, vascular access outcomes, treatment adequacy, and adverse eventsResource & Performance ManagementManage human, financial, and material resources efficiently and responsiblyParticipate in budget planning, productivity monitoring, and cost-effective utilization of supplies and equipmentUtilize established conflict resolution techniques to address staff and operational issues constructivelyDrive performance improvement initiatives that enhance clinical outcomes and operational effectivenessRequirementsCurrent New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License requiredBachelor's Degree in Nursing required; Master's Degree in Nursing or related field preferredMinimum of 3–5 years of progressive healthcare management experience, with dialysis or renal care experience strongly preferredDemonstrated experience in inpatient and/or outpatient dialysis settingsExperience working in a team-based, collective bargaining environment desirableWorking knowledge of dialysis-related regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., CMS ESRD Conditions for Coverage)Proven ability to develop staffing models, schedules, and coverage plansStrong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skillsQualificationsEducationBachelor of Science or better in Nursing.Licenses & CertificationsRegistered NurseEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
