TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Wichita, Kansas, 67208!

Job Title: Travel RN - Med/Surg Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital Med/Surg experience License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS required; CRRN certification preferred Description: Travel RN position available in a Medical-Surgical unit. The unit has 41 beds with over 60 nursing staff members. Day shift includes 4 RNs and 5 LPNs, while night shift includes 4 RNs and 4 LPNs. Patient ratios are 1:6. Equipment used includes patient lifts, iSTAT, glucometers, and wound vacs. The electronic medical record system is Meditech. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of current acute care hospital Med/Surg experience. BLS certification is required for this role. Candidates with CRRN certification will be given preference. Familiarity with Quality Indicator scoring in a post-acute setting is desirable. Telemetry patients require passing Airstrip telemetry competency. Typical procedures include assisting in rehabilitation care plans established by the interdisciplinary team, lab draws, administering IV antibiotics and medications as needed, blood administration, and head-to-toe assessments. Candidates should enjoy educating patients and family members about care plans and rehabilitation programs. Good communication skills and a strong sense of empathy as a patient advocate are essential.
