About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Long-Term Acute Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years of current Long-Term Acute Care experience required. License: Kentucky or compact license required. Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS certification required. Must-Have: - Experience in MS/Tele or ICU with a 1:4 patient ratio. - Experience with Meditech EMR preferred. - Charge experience is preferred. - Experience with travel nursing is required. Description: The position requires a registered nurse with a minimum of two years of current Long-Term Acute Care experience. Candidates must possess experience in medical-surgical, telemetry, or intensive care units. The nurse will be working with a patient ratio of 1:4. Experience with the Meditech electronic medical record system is preferred. Candidates must have valid AHA certifications in BLS and ACLS, as well as NIHSS certification. A current Kentucky or compact nursing license is mandatory. Every other weekend work is required. Candidates must be willing to work a schedule of 36/48 hours over a two-week pay period. Flexibility with scheduling is necessary as blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated. Two references are required from past employment, including one from a charge nurse or higher and one from a supervisor. The role involves various nursing skills including ventilator management, wound care, central line management, and medication administration. The daily census in this specialty unit is 20 patients, with a mixture of adult and geriatric patients. The candidate should be comfortable working as part of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating effectively with physical therapy, respiratory services, and other support services.
