Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Opportunity

Role: Specialty Registered Nurse – Step Down Unit

Schedule: Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36.00

Requirements:

• Current RN license in state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required within 6 months of hire
• 6 months of cardiac step-down or telemetry experience in the last 2 years preferred

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide appropriate nursing interventions in both stable and emergent patient situations.
• Administer medications and manage intravenous therapy, including blood products.
• Care for and maintain indwelling catheters and drains, and ensure safe use of medical equipment in critical care settings.
• Monitor and interpret ECG rhythms, managing care during life-threatening emergencies.
• Follow chain of command and collaborate with ancillary personnel regarding patient care.
• Manage post-operative care for patients following coronary interventions and placements of pacemakers or ICDs.

Compliance/Notes:

• Orientation policies and necessary background checks or drug screens may apply.
• Float to medical-surgical unit as needed.
• Must maintain ACLS certification.
