Commercial Roofing Service Technician

Description Commercial Roofing Service Technician Position Identification Reports to: Service Manager Position Summary The Roofing Service Technician is part of a two-man crew that performs a variety of flat membrane, metal, and shingle roof related repairs for Service Department clients within a 2 hour radius of the Bloomington office. This is a Union position within Local 119. Job Functions Assist lead technician in identifying and resolving leak sources Installing and repairing various components of flat roof material and flashings Setting up ladders and safety equipment for accessing roof elevations Assisting in loading or carrying miscellaneous roofing materials and equipment Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential) High school graduate 1 year of experience with commercial roofing repair work or proven competency in construction trades Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to main office Ability to perform physical outdoor labor Ability to do general math Key Competencies Repair/installation experience with EPDM, TPO, PVC membrane roofing Experience using construction related hand tools and equipment Working Conditions Physical surroundings: Field environment with exposure to heights, noise and temperature. Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions, both hot and cold and in windy conditions. Physical Effort: Walking, turning, stooping and reaching for and carrying materials, stepping over and around obstacles, climbing ladders and scaffolding.
