Job Title: CNC Lathe Operator Job Description

The CNC Lathe Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC single turret lathes to produce high-quality parts according to blueprint specifications. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to read and interpret drawings, with an understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). A commitment to safety and precision in a manufacturing environment is essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate single turret CNC Lathe Machines with Live Tooling capabilities.

• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, pin gages, bore gages, and plug gages.

• Make necessary offsets to tooling under Fanuc controls.

• Identify and resolve machining issues like tool wear to maintain customer-required dimensions.

• Accurately record production data, including quantities and quality inspections.

• Follow all safety protocols and ensure the workspace is clean and organized.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

• Understanding of GD&T.

• Familiarity with CNC lathes and measuring equipment.

• Strong focus on accuracy and quality.

• Strong communication skills.

• Ability to hold tolerances as tight as +/- .0002.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with CNC Lathe operation.

• Knowledge of Hardinge and Nakamura machines.

This is a Permanent position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
