Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 3 years in sterile processing License: Must have either CBSPD or CRCST certification Certifications: CBSPD, IAHCSMM/HSPA Must-Have: - Experience with decontamination of all items - Knowledge of sterilization processes (Sterrad and steam) - High-Level Disinfection (HLD) experience - Experience with sterile storage and operating room liaison - Familiarity with Censitrac tracking system - Ability to move case carts and separate soiled instruments Description: We are seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician. The technician will receive hands-on training on all equipment and testing procedures during the initial training period. The training schedule will consist of Monday to Friday from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Upon successful completion of training, the regular schedule will be Friday to Monday from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Candidates should have experience in all areas of sterile processing. Key responsibilities include the decontamination, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments and equipment. The technician will ensure that all instruments are processed in accordance with safety and quality standards. This position will involve working closely with the Operating Room staff to ensure timely availability of sterilized instruments. Traveling may be required between various locations. The technician will also assist with procurement and standardization of instrument trays across multiple sites. The role is essential in preventing infections through proper sterilization and handling of medical supplies. Candidates must be willing to comply with credentialing and fingerprinting processes. All candidates must possess strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
