Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Rover in Bessemer, AL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
Pay Rate: $17.50 / Hour

DayTime Wed 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
How This Role Works:
- Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or employees by following site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and appropriate emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Respond to incidents, operational concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout warehouses, shipping and receiving areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and report security-related concerns.
- Monitor entry and exit points, vehicle traffic, and/or pedestrian movement to help support authorized access and report suspicious behavior, damaged equipment, or policy-related issues.
- Support day-to-day operations by completing incident reports, maintaining accurate activity logs, and/or assisting with security-related procedures during deliveries, shift changes, and emergency situations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
