Role Description Huntington Store Warehouse Clerks are essential logistics team members who manage inventory, process shipments, and ensure the smooth flow of goods within Huntington Store warehouse environments located on The Huntington campus. The role requires a blend of physical stamina and sharp attention to detail to minimize errors in a fast‑paced setting. S/he/they will demonstrate a background of working directly with people from diverse backgrounds, using a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible approach. Essential Duties Shipping and Receiving: Load, unload, and maneuver dollies & pallet jacks, inspect incoming goods for damage, and verify contents against purchase orders, invoices, or packing slips. Verification: Compare packing lists and invoices against original purchase orders to ensure the correct quantities and products have arrived. Documentation and Discrepancy Resolution: Communicate shipment condition details, manage paperwork such as bills of lading, invoices, and shipping reports using email, inventory management software, and verbal communication. Notify Operations team immediately when orders are incorrect, missing items, or damaged. Inventory Management: Perform cycle counts to verify physical stock against digital records, label items with tags, notify Operations team when quantity discrepancies are found, and participate in annual physical inventory. Storage & Distribution: Move products and supplies to carts, storage locations, and other merchandising locations as necessary. Order Fulfillment: Pick items based on customer orders, pack them securely, and prepare them for shipment with appropriate labels and documentation. Safety and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace to comply with safety regulations and operating equipment such as dollies and pallet jacks. Other Duties: May perform other related duties as assigned. Candidate Requirements and Experience Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Education: high school diploma or GED. Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills for data entry; familiarity with Microsoft Office (especially Outlook and Excel, and preferably Teams). Attention to Detail: Critical for accurately recording inventory numbers and identifying discrepancies in shipments. Communication: Strong verbal and written skills are needed to coordinate with team members and supervisors. Preferred: Stock receiving and warehousing in a retail environment. Working Conditions Works primarily in the Store's basement warehouse, but also works occasionally in the store, mailroom, and other locations on campus. Works with equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, hand trucks, and carts. Shifts often include overtime during peak seasons. Will be lifting and carrying boxes and merchandise. Transports merchandise across grounds using hand trucks and book carts and, if authorized, motorized vehicles. Ability to stand for long periods, walk extensively, and lift moderately heavy objects—up to 50 pounds individually and heavier with the assistance of additional team members.
