New Markets & Growth Lead

Location: New York City – On-site
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–7:00 PM

About the Role

We are seeking an entrepreneurial and highly driven Founding New Markets & Growth Lead to help expand a rapidly growing education technology company into new geographic markets.

The company has established a strong presence in its existing markets and is now looking for someone who can help identify, develop and launch new markets across the United States.

This is a highly autonomous role. You will be expected to research opportunities, develop relationships, build new accounts and create the playbook for entering new markets.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate new geographic markets.

• Develop strategies for entering new states and markets.

• Research market opportunities, competitors and customer needs.

• Build relationships with prospective customers and partners.

• Develop new business and manage the sales process.

• Help launch and grow new customer accounts.

• Build relationships with key decision-makers.

• Travel to prospective customers, conferences and industry events as needed.

• Develop repeatable processes for entering and growing new markets.

• Work closely with leadership, sales, product and customer success.

• Analyze results and continuously refine the go-to-market strategy.

• Take ownership of new-market growth from initial research through execution.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in growth, business development, product, sales, consulting or an entrepreneurial environment.

• Demonstrated ability to build something from the ground up.

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

• Comfortable making cold calls, networking and creating opportunities from scratch.

• Highly self-motivated and comfortable operating without a detailed playbook.

• Strong commercial instincts and ability to identify growth opportunities.

• Willingness to travel when necessary.

• Exceptional work ethic and willingness to put in the hours required to succeed.

This role is for a builder. We are looking for someone who gets excited by entering an unfamiliar market, figuring out what works and turning an opportunity into a successful business. The right person will have significant responsibility and the opportunity to directly influence the company's growth.
