A mission-driven community health organization in Austin, Texas , is seeking an experienced Adult Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join its integrated primary care team.

This position offers a competitive annual salary of $120,000 $150,000 , no call responsibilities and potential sign-on or relocation assistance. The incoming Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive adult primary care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team that includes medical, behavioral health, nutrition and social-support professionals.

Candidates must have at least three years of Nurse Practitioner experience . New graduates, including candidates completing training in 2027, are not being considered for this opening.

Practice Environment

The Nurse Practitioner will join an established Adult Medicine department with approximately nine adult medicine providers.

Although this individual will be the only Nurse Practitioner assigned specifically to Adult Medicine, other Nurse Practitioners work throughout the organization in departments such as Pediatrics.

The organization uses an integrated care model that allows providers to collaborate across:

• Adult primary care
• Behavioral health
• Nutrition services
• In-house legal services
• Additional clinical and community-support programs

This structure helps providers address the medical, behavioral and social factors affecting patient health.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care to adult patients
• Conduct patient histories, physical examinations and clinical assessments
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
• Manage medications and chronic disease care
• Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic testing
• Provide preventive screenings and routine health-maintenance services
• Educate patients regarding treatment, prevention and self-management
• Coordinate referrals to specialists and community resources
• Collaborate with physicians, Medical Assistants, behavioral health professionals, nutrition staff and other care-team members
• Maintain complete, accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Support continuity of care for medically and socially complex patients
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and quality-improvement efforts

Preferred Clinical Background

Candidates with experience in the following areas are especially desirable:

• Substance use disorder treatment
• Diabetes management
• Acute and chronic pain management
• Adult primary care
• Community health
• Care of underserved or medically complex populations

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced Nurse Practitioner who is comfortable practicing with a high degree of clinical independence while remaining actively engaged with a collaborative care team.

They should demonstrate:

• At least three years of Nurse Practitioner experience
• Strong adult primary care and chronic disease-management skills
• Effective clinical judgment and decision-making
• Ability to care for patients with complex medical and social needs
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to culturally responsive, patient-centered care
• Interest in working within an integrated community health environment

Spanish fluency is not required. Bilingual Medical Assistants and translation resources are available to support communication with patients.

Compensation and Incentives

The annual salary range is $120,000 $150,000 .

The compensation structure does not include RVU requirements or RVU-based incentive compensation.

Additional financial support may include:

• Up to $10,000 in relocation assistance for candidates moving at least 75 miles
• A typical $7,500 sign-on bonus for candidates who are not relocating
• Professional malpractice insurance

Relocation and sign-on amounts are negotiated during compensation discussions. For relocating candidates, the approved relocation package may include or replace a separate sign-on incentive.
