Maintenance Worker IIThe Scottsdale Parks & Recreation Department is hiring multiple motivated, detail-oriented Maintenance Worker II positions to support Eldorado Park and Chaparral Park —two of Scottsdale's busiest and most beloved recreation destinations.Together, Eldorado Park and Chaparral Park serve thousands of residents, athletes, families, and visitors each week. These parks feature expansive multi-use sports fields, a skate park, lakes, playgrounds, community gathering spaces, and direct connections to the Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt.In this hands-on role, you will help ensure these iconic green spaces remain clean, safe, and welcoming for all who rely on their year-round recreation facilities and high-use amenities. Your craftsmanship, reliability, and attention to detail will directly shape the daily experience of the community.The ideal candidate brings experience in:Keeping grounds clean, safe, and welcoming by monitoring high-use areas, cleaning ramadas, restrooms, and playgrounds, and removing litter throughout the parkPerforming core landscape tasks such as pruning, planting, trimming, raking, fertilizing, mowing, and general upkeep of turf and landscaped areasMaintaining irrigation systems, including adjusting schedules, repairing lines and heads, and troubleshooting controllers and minor electrical issuesSafely operating hand tools, mowers, EZ-GO carts, and city vehiclesAccurately calibrating and applying seed, fertilizers, and herbicidesPlanting and pruning trees and shrubs using proper Arizona Landscape Professional standardsAnticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate's experience and internal equity. The Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles requires that out-of-state driver's licenses must be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona. Note: Graduated Driver's Licenses are considered restricted.Within six months of hire, an Arizona Pest Control Applicator certification possessing Category 3 (Ornamental & Turf) and Category 4 (Right-of-Way) must be obtained.Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on department/section assignment.
