Pioneer Sports & Entertainment is seeking a highly driven, hands-on sports marketing leader to oversee our growing portfolio of technology, travel, and sports service businesses, including Athlete One, Athlete Travel, and Global Sports Experiences (GSE).

The primary focus of this role will be Athlete One , PSE's youth sports technology platform and mobile app. We're looking for someone who has experience launching and marketing a mobile app and understands that app marketing goes well beyond traditional digital marketing. This person should be comfortable building campaigns across website, email, social media, SMS/text, push and in-app notifications, paid media, and App Store Optimization (ASO) - and understand how those channels work together to drive acquisition, engagement, and retention.

We're looking for a leader who can build the plan, lead internal resources, analyze what's working, and roll up their sleeves to help execute when needed. They should have experience working with Sales for key messaging and business goals, and Engineering/Dev teams to understand user journeys.

The Director will report to the VP of Marketing and work closely with business leaders across technology, travel, sales, and operations.

Location: In-person based role in San Diego, CA

Salary: starting at $120K+

Primary Responsibilities

Athlete One

• Own the marketing strategy and integrated content calendar for Athlete One across web, email, social, SMS, push/in-app notifications, paid media, and app stores.
• Lead go-to-market marketing for product launches, new features, and platform enhancements.
• Develop campaigns that drive app downloads, user acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention.
• Own App Store Optimization (ASO), app positioning, launch communications, and ongoing app marketing.
• Develop clear messaging for clubs, coaches, athletes, parents, tournament operators, and other youth sports audiences.
• Use performance data and customer insights to continually test, learn, and improve marketing results.
• Partner with sales and business leadership to connect marketing activity to adoption and revenue growth.

Travel & Experiences

• Oversee marketing for PSE's youth sports travel and international experience businesses, including Athlete Travel and GSE.
• Partner with business leaders to build campaigns that drive bookings, registrations, participation, and brand awareness.
• Lead seasonal marketing calendars across website, email, social media, and other customer communication channels.
• Support new programs, destinations, tournament travel, and international experience launches.

Leadership & Execution

• Balance strategy with hands-on execution in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
• Build annual marketing plans, content calendars, budgets, KPIs, and performance reporting.
• Coordinate creative, web, email, social, video, and other internal marketing resources.
• Manage multiple brands and priorities while keeping projects moving and holding teams accountable for results.

What We're Looking For

• A marketer who is equally comfortable thinking strategically and jumping into execution.
• Highly driven, resourceful, organized, and comfortable working in an environment where priorities move quickly.
• 5+ years of consumer marketing experience within sports, technology, or travel
• Hands-on experience launching or growing a mobile app or digital product.
• Strong working knowledge of push/in-app notifications, SMS marketing, App Store Optimization, email marketing, websites, social media, paid digital media, and CRM/customer lifecycle marketing.
• Strong communicator who can work directly with senior business leaders while also collaborating closely with creative and execution teams.
• A genuine passion for soccer. Familiarity with the elite youth club soccer system in the U.S. is a major plus.
