Phlebotomist Position at Three Trails Behavioral Hospital

Three Trails Behavioral Hospital in Independence, MO is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Phlebotomist to join our clinical team. This role is responsible for obtaining high-quality blood specimens while ensuring patient comfort and safety in a behavioral health setting.

The Phlebotomist will:

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws accurately and efficiently
• Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of specimens
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines
• Prepare and transport specimens to the appropriate laboratory
• Monitor patients during and after collection to ensure comfort and safety
• Maintain and stock phlebotomy supplies and equipment
• Accurately document procedures in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to support patient care

Three Trails Behavioral Hospital will:

• Serve children and adolescents, adults and seniors with innovative and evidence-based inpatient behavioral healthcare focused on individual needs and comfort.
• Create more than 200 new, full-time jobs including nurses, clinicians, therapists, technicians and administrative staff, when the facility is fully operational.
• Be located at the intersection of I-70 and Little Blue Parkway, adjacent to the Children's Mercy Hospital Outpatient Clinics.
• Feature 120 licensed beds ready to meet the mental health needs of the surrounding community.
• Span more than 88,000 square feet, and will include an activity yard and gym.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program required
• Phlebotomy certification (CPT, PBT, or equivalent) preferred
• Minimum of 1-2 years of phlebotomy experience preferred
• Experience in a healthcare or behavioral health setting is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and patient care skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in sensitive situations
