Your expertise as a Special Education Teacher with an LBS1 endorsement will help foster growth, confidence, and academic achievement in your students.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Valid LBS1 Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience with middle school-aged children in a self-contained special education setting
- Strong foundation in math instruction and curriculum adaptation for diverse learners
- Ability to create an engaging, supportive, and structured classroom environment
- Collaborative mindset for working with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Skills in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Commitment to fostering inclusion and empowering students of all abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver differentiated math instruction tailored to students’ learning profiles
- Develop, review, and implement IEPs in collaboration with the school team and families
- Utilize a variety of strategies to accommodate diverse learner needs and support emotional growth
- Foster positive classroom culture, encouraging independence and self-advocacy
- Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with parents and colleagues
- Participate in professional development and school-based meetings as needed
