Production/Assembly 1st Shift

Job Summary Production/Assembly/General Labor. Pay: $18-21 per hour. Schedule: 4:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday. Job Description Attention to detail required. Stacks of doors enter the work area on a conveyor, perform visual quality checks, repair newly and previously identified doors with quality defects, restack doors meeting quality specs, push pallets onto conveyor, place unrepairable doors in cull stack and write up reject sheets. Operate jump tracks, straighten doors, push door stacks onto infeed tracks of paint booth. Use glue gun, palm sander, sanding block, chisel, putty knives, clamps, and apply Bondo, hot melt glue, touch‑up paint, and putty. Knowledge Read and interpret ticket instructions and specifications, identify product quality, identify defects, recognize sanders, planers, hand tools, putty knife, sanding block, wood chisel, high attention to detail, multi‑tasking and assist with various stages of door production as needed. Skill Ability to use woodworking craftsmanship tools to repair doors. Requires high quality standard and some creativity. Responsibility Moderate level of responsibility: identify defects, make repairs using tools, make decisions on repair feasibility, minimize cost of quality impact while meeting customer quality expectations. Physical Demands Manually lift, slide, or flip materials or doors up to 80 lbs; bend, stoop, twist, maintain dexterity; stand for long continuous hours; repair, buff, finish doors as required. Mental Demands Fast‑paced job with continuous focus on finding defects. Constant focus on visual quality inspection of doors. Social Communicate with upstream and downstream departments, immediately report internal process‑oriented defects for quick recovery and repair. Working Conditions Mildly controlled environment with potential cold and heat during extreme weather. Heavy dust and noise.
