Principal Research Scientist I

Principal Research Scientist position leading in vivo cardiovascular safety pharmacology studies across rodent, canine, and nonhuman-primate models. Provides scientific and strategic leadership in study design, execution, interpretation, and reporting while advancing GLP compliance and regulatory readiness within a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, execution, quality, interpretation, and reporting of in vivo cardiovascular safety studies
• Develop, optimize, validate, and implement fit-for-purpose cardiovascular assays and models
• Author and implement SOPs supporting quality, consistency, and regulatory readiness
• Mentor scientists and communicate study strategy and risk assessments to leadership and stakeholders
• Manage team members directly and indirectly to plan, coordinate, and prioritize studies

Requirements

• PhD in physiology, pharmacology, toxicology, or related field
• 10+ years relevant experience in cardiovascular biology or safety pharmacology
• Demonstrated expertise designing and executing in vivo cardiovascular studies
• Experience with rodent and large-animal models including canine and nonhuman primates
• Working knowledge of GLP, quality systems, and regulatory documentation
• Strong written and verbal scientific communication skills
• At least one year of previous people management experience
