Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a creative and highly talented Mechanical Engineer for immediate employment in our Dallas or Houston, TX office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Leading or assisting with the design of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems as well as plumbing systems for DoD, and Mission Critical Facility projects.Perform Construction Administration services, including review of shop drawings, RFI’s and review of contractor proposed change ordersEvaluate feasibility of alternative design approaches in conjunction with senior team membersPerform site/field visits to ascertain existing conditions including equipment condition evaluationsOrganize/plan projects to ensure quality controls and project criteria are met and within budget Assist in preparing proposals and presenting to ClientsAssist with mentoring of junior staff within the Mechanical DepartmentReview and edit specificationsInteract and work with a diverse set of clients and subcontractorsQualificationsMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited Mechanical Engineering Program4+ years of experience in mechanical design of HVAC and Plumbing systems or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationPreferred RequirementsProfessional Engineer (PE) or in process of obtaining6+ years of experience in mechanical design of HVAC and Plumbing systemsExperience using AutoCAD and RevitAbility to interact with others on a multi-discipline teamAbility to work on multiple projects at onceExcellent communications skills with the ability to present designs to clientsGood time management skills, a strong work ethic and attention to detailProficient in Building Load Calculation and Energy ModelingProficient in the design of HVAC, MAU/DOAS, refrigeration, piping, process piping, steam & condensate and specialty exhaust systemsProficient in the design of plumbing systems including sanitary, storm, water distribution, pumping and medical gas systemsCampus distribution & central plant design experience a plusEnergy Modeling experience a plusCost estimating experience a plusExperience with Design-Build and other Alternate Delivery practices a plusExperience with Instrumentation and Controls design a plusExcellent Communications Skills with the ability to present designs to clientsAdditional Industry Certifications such as LEED AP, CxA or CEMAdditional InformationSponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
