A solid grasp of the software development lifecycle and best practices is critical, including version control, testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD). The Software Engineer will work within an Agile team supporting multiple software products, prioritizing enhancements and bug fixes, and managing tasks efficiently to ensure smooth delivery of quality software. Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Level 2 Software Engineer to perform in supporting the Advanced Capabilities Business Unit (BU). This position would be based in Aurora, CO. About our organization: As an engineer, you’ll be joining our growing Aurora Software department which has 200+ Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Systems Administrator, Database Administrator, and Network Engineer peers from entry‑level to the most senior chief engineers and architects. Staff Software Engineers frequently get into informal (example: Subject Matter Expert) and formal technical leadership roles within their programs, as applicable and per interest. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 2+ years of relative experience; Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 0+ years of relative experience. An additional 4 years of relative experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Active Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility required at time of application. Experience with designing, testing, implementing, and developing in Java. Experience with Git Experience with Kubernetes and/or Helm Experience with databases such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, or MySQL Experience with agile tools such as Jira and Confluence Experience working in an agile environment, collaborating with product owner, scrum master, configuration management, integration test and development. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with creating Rest API’s Experience with ActiveMQ or RabbitMQ Experience with Linux Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
