This role combines hands-on technical work with team leadership — assigning tasks, training team members, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and serving as the primary point of contact for maintenance operations in support of the site’s business goals and objectives.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership – Lead, schedule, and assign daily and weekly work to Maintenance Specialists, ensuring proper coverage and prioritization of tasks across the facility.
- Training & Development – Train, mentor, and onboard maintenance team members on equipment operation, safety protocols, and facility procedures.
- Point of Contact – Serve as the first point of escalation for maintenance issues, coordinating with outside vendors and contractors as needed.
- Quality Assurance – Inspect completed work performed by the team to confirm adherence to safety standards, company procedures, and quality expectations.
- Communication – Keep the Facilities Manager informed of team performance, outstanding issues, and resource needs.
- Inventory & Cost Control – Oversee maintenance parts and supplies inventory, placing orders as needed and helping control maintenance costs.
- Lead by Example – Perform hands-on maintenance and repair work alongside the team, modeling safe work habits and strong craftsmanship.
Hands-On Maintenance Responsibilities:
- Perform and oversee emergency, scheduled, and preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility systems across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and carpentry areas.
- Diagnose issues, repair or replace parts, read manuals/work orders, and operate a wide range of tools and testing equipment safely.
- Maintain facility infrastructure including lighting, electrical outlets, HVAC components, forklifts, doors, walls, and general building systems.
- Maintain maintenance supplies inventory, keep logs, follow safety/operational procedures, and maintain clean, orderly work areas.
- Support additional tasks such as building display props, assisting with deliveries, and providing feedback to management on safety, efficiency, and productivity.
Qualifications:
- Prior maintenance experience required; 1–2 years in a lead, supervisory, or trainer capacity strongly preferred.
- Must be highly motivated, able to lead a team, and work independently with minimal oversight.
- Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, welding, construction, and air conditioning equipment.
