Medical Biller - Insurance A/R SpecialistResponsibilities/Tasks include, but not limited to:Work rejects/denials, send corrected claims, appealsElectronic claims building and submissionStay up to date on CPT, ICD, and LCD guidelinesChart and coding reviewCheck eligibility and benefitsObtain prior authorizationsCall patients when necessary to verify insurance informationProvide excellent customer service to patients paying their bill or inquiring about their accountWork to reduce backlog of unpaid claims in legacy systemsRead and analyze EOBs and ERAsPayment postingMaintains HIPAA patient confidentiality standards for medical and financial informationKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of CPT, ICD, and LCD guidelinesAbility to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writingCompetency with Microsoft Office and G SuiteExcellent problem-solving skills and high attention to detailAdapt well to changes in processes and proceduresUnderstanding of insurance plans and basic accountingKnowledge and understanding of the medical claims billing cycle and HCFA1500 forms, HCPCs, ModifiersExcellent time management and organizational skillsPositive attitude, able to work well with a team as well as independentlyStrong knowledge of Government Programs – ex: Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, VAStrong knowledge of commercial policiesExcellent customer service skills and phone mannerQualifications:Certification (Preferred): CPC, CBCS, OR CCADermatology Experience (Preferred)Education:High school DiplomaPlease note, any offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.COVID-19 Precaution(s):Personal protective equipment provided or requiredTemperature screeningsSocial distancing guidelines in placeSanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in placeJob Type: Full-timePay: From $17.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceEmployee discountHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceBenefit Conditions:Only full-time employees eligibleSchedule:Day shiftMonday to FridayExperience:Medical Billing: 1 year (Required)Work Location: In personSouthwest Dermatology & Vein is a leader in the fields of dermatology and vein surgery.
