Job DescriptionThe Opportunity:\nAs aSuitabilityPrincipalyou will conduct back-office review and firm-acceptance of new and existing business and account maintenance submissions as well as suitability reviews for accounts clearing through National Financial Services (NFS). We seek to provide best-in-class service to sophisticated Advisors as they provide their clients with a holistic suite of wealth management products and solutions.\n\nThe Impact:\nIn this role, you will help protect clients, advisors, and the firm by ensuring brokerage, advisory, and variable annuity business aligns with regulatory requirements, suitability standards, and firm policies. Through risk identification, supervisory oversight, and expert consultation, you will drive sound business decisions, support compliant growth, and strengthen the firm's risk management framework while serving as a trusted partner to advisors, compliance teams, and business leaders.\n\n\n Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\n \n \n Conduct back-office review and firm-acceptance of new and existing submissions related to Brokerage, Direct and Third-Party Advisory accounts.\n \n Review trading activity of registered representatives through supervisory control procedures and application of firm policies and procedures and will require the associate to eventually become a subject matter expert for all previously referenced lines of Inforce Business, including a solid understanding of our platforms and systems.\n \n Determine root cause of issues, provide solutions, and resolve matters independently without management supervision at times.\n \n Implementation and management of operational and supervisory procedures for the firm.\n \n Ability to effectively communicate with registered representatives, agency personnel, and internal business partners such as Compliance, Field Inspection, and Regional Supervisory Directors. Specialized regulatory review of securities such as Options trading and Municipal Securities may be required. Involved daily in complex problem resolution requiring higher level critical thinking.\n \n Consult with registered representatives, Agency Supervisory Officers and Regional Supervisory Directors, providing guidance on suitability concerns and guidelines.\n \n Consistently identify and report to management on trending and risk mitigation measures.\n \n \n The Minimum Qualifications:\n \n \n FINRA Series 7 & 24 at time of application\n \n 1+ years of MMLIS experience OR2+ years of experience in broker-dealer supervision, compliance, risk management, new business review, trade surveillance, registered representative support, or securities operations\n \n 2+ years experience interpreting and applying FINRA, SEC, and firm policies to evaluate transactions, account activity, or new business submissions\n \n 2+ years demonstrated ability to identify risks, investigate issues, analyze complex situations, and make sound business decisions\n \n High School Diploma\n \n All FINRA registered individuals working remote and/or hybrid schedules are subject to either remote or on-site inspections according to a location risk assessment.\n \n Candidates residing within 50 miles ofthe MassMutual Springfield officewill be expected to work a Hybrid schedule of 3 days a week in the office\n \n \n The Ideal Qualifications:\n \n \n 2+ years MMLIS experience OR 3+ years' experience conducting suitability reviews within the brokerage/advisory space.\n \n Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment.\n \n High degree of ownership and sense of urgency.\n \n College degree preferred with a concentration in business or finance.\n \n Passion for embracing business process improvement opportunities.\n \n High aptitude for effective problem resolution.\n \n Must be able to think independently and tactfully challenge the opinions of others.\n \n Superior customer service skills.\n \n Excellent interpersonal skills; team player, self-motivated; patient demeanor; approachable style.\n \n High aptitude for effective problem resolution.\n \n Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.\n \n \n What You Can Expect at MassMutual:\n MassMutual offers the opportunity to do meaningful work within a purpose-driven organization that values long-term impact over short-term outcomes.
