Training Specialist

Job Title: Training Specialist Location: Nashville, TN/REMOTE Duration: 10+ Months Department: Tennessee Corrections Institute Training Division Job Type: Full Time Job. Potential to become permanent state employee in the future. Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: Flexible schedule Schedule: 8 hour shift Ability to Relocate: Relocation is not required for the right candidate, however; the ideal candidate lives within the State of Tennessee due to periodic requirements for the individual to report in person to a designated location. Work Location: This position is primarily remote work, however; some work outcomes will require the incumbent to report in person to a designated location. Join us in shaping a safer, more effective future. Responsibilities Develop high-quality training curricula tailored to corrections and law enforcement, including core and specialized content. Perform comprehensive research on current events and industry trends to assess and define training needs. Work collaboratively with training staff to establish and achieve short-term and long-term curriculum goals. Ensure effective communication with team members to deliver all projects within deadlines. Participate in both virtual and in-person meetings to align strategies and progress with team objectives. Conduct quality assurance reviews to maintain and enhance the effectiveness of existing training materials. Utilize the ACADIS/FTACS platform (TCI's Learning Management System) proficiently to design, manage, and evaluate training programs and events. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in corrections, criminal justice, or related field preferred, but not required. Previous experience in law enforcement, corrections, or related field is highly preferred. Previous experience in creating training content is highly preferred. Above average proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and outside professionals. Ability to consistently meet performance deadlines.
