If you have a strong eye for detail, enjoy solving problems, and take pride in making sure things are done the right way, Hayden Valley Foods is looking for a Quality Control Technician for 2nd shift to join our team.

Quality is at the heart of what we do. As a QC Technician, you'll work directly with Production, Sanitation, and other team members to help ensure our products meet food safety, quality, company, and customer requirements.

This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment where your attention to detail matters every day.

What You'll Do

As a Quality Control Technician, you will monitor materials, processes, and finished products to verify compliance with established food safety and quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Inspecting incoming materials and finished products for compliance with company and customer specifications.

• Monitoring and verifying food safety and quality programs, including SOPs, SSOPs, and GMPs.

• Performing sanitation verification, including allergen and ATP testing.

• Conducting product weight and process checks.

• Verifying product labels, packaging, coding, and other required information.

• Monitoring metal detection and other foreign-material control programs, including glass and brittle plastic controls.

• Monitoring processing conditions, including required temperatures and other critical process measurements.

• Collecting samples for laboratory testing and product retention.

• Initiating and documenting product holds when requirements are not met.

• Supporting pest-control monitoring activities.

• Accurately completing QC records, inspection forms, and other required documentation.

• Identifying potential food safety or quality concerns and communicating them promptly to the appropriate team members.

• Working with Production and other departments to investigate and resolve quality issues.

• Supporting regulatory, certification, food safety, and customer audits.

• Helping reinforce GMPs and food safety expectations throughout the facility.

• Developing a strong working knowledge of plant processes and procedures to provide effective quality support to operations.

Education & Experience

Required:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Experience documenting data and performing basic analytical calculations.

• Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures and specifications.

Preferred:

• Previous quality-control or food manufacturing experience.

• Experience working in a food production or processing facility.

• Education or coursework in food science, biology, chemistry, laboratory sciences, or a related field.

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time, non-exempt position.

• Minimum of 40 hours per week.

• Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on production and operational needs.

• Competitive base pay based on relevant experience and qualifications, plus a $2.00/hour shift differential.

Work Environment

This position works primarily in an active food manufacturing and warehouse environment. Employees may be exposed to varying temperatures, production equipment, noise, food ingredients, and other conditions normally associated with a manufacturing facility.

Because this is a hands-on Quality Control role, regular time on the production floor is an essential part of the position.

Physical Requirements

While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb, and perform other physical activities necessary to inspect production areas and processes.

The employee must be able to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

The position also requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• No regular travel is required.
