Lead Server Position at Villa Bellezza

Villa Bellezza is an Italian-inspired winery, restaurant and event destination in the Upper Mississippi River wine country of Pepin, Wisconsin. Our guests come to Villa Bellezza not simply for a meal or a glass of wine, but for an experience centered on great hospitality, Italian food and wine.

We are looking for a Lead Server who enjoys working with people and has an interest in wine and Italian food.

What You'll Do

As a Lead Server, you will combine excellent table service with a leadership role on the restaurant floor.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide warm, attentive and knowledgeable service to our guests.
• Learn Villa Bellezza wines, Italian food and wine-and-food pairings.
• Help guests select wines and food based on their interests and preferences.
• Develop strong wine presentation and wine sales skills.
• Take orders accurately and efficiently and coordinate with the kitchen and other service staff.
• Serve wine properly and confidently.
• Help create a memorable Italian wine-and-food experience for every table.
• Assist with opening, closing and shift-side work.
• Help newer servers learn our service standards, menu and wines.
• Provide leadership on the floor and help keep service organized during busy periods.
• Work cooperatively with our kitchen, tasting room, event and management teams.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and welcoming dining environment.

Who We're Looking For

The best candidate will have:

• Restaurant, hospitality or other customer-service experience.
• A genuine interest in wine, food and hospitality.
• An outgoing, comfortable communication style with guests.
• The ability to recommend and sell products without creating a high-pressure experience.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic.
• The ability to stay organized and positive during busy service periods.
• A willingness to learn.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Previous serving experience is strongly preferred for the Lead Server position. Previous wine knowledge is helpful but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

$15 per hour plus tips.

Tips can make this a very attractive hospitality position.

Both full-time and part-time positions are available.

Schedule

Villa Bellezza is busiest on weekends, so weekend availability is important. Both full-time and part-time schedules are available.

This position involves the normal physical activity associated with restaurant service, including substantial standing and walking and carrying food, wine and service items.
