Supply Technician

Overview Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Training and Development, Advanced Training Center, located in Harpers Ferry, WV. Duties This position provides substantive clerical support to support CBP's mission. This position starts at a salary of $57,736.00 (GS-07, Step 1) to $75,059.00 (GS-07, Step 10). GS Salary: view locality pay tables by geographic area. If your area is not listed, select the "Rest of United States" pay table. Some positions fall under a special pay rate depending on the series, grade level and location. In this Supply Technician position, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals to provide substantive clerical support services. Typical work assignments include: Independently plans, executes, and reconciles end-to-end supply operations for the Office of Training and Development's Advanced Training Center warehouse to include ordering, receiving, inventorying and transferring supplies. Assisting with overseeing the lost, stolen, destroyed, or missing property program by conducting audits, researching and documenting causes, preparing detailed reports for management. Serves as primary inventory lead (e.g., Inventory Taker/LPO) for accountable property, developing inventory schedules, directing annual and bi-annual inventories, reconciling variances, and ensuring full compliance with CBP/OTD property management guidance. Maintaining inventory, warranty, maintenance and control records for all equipment received and shipped out. Qualifications Experience: You qualify for the GS-07 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Providing a variety of technical property management services such as maintaining inventory records and files Conducting reviews of purchases and inventories Participating on management studies investigating inventory discrepancies Compiling information for reports regarding lost, stolen, or damaged property. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs, and other organizations. Residency: a United States residency is required for at least three of the last five years. If residency conditions are not met, a waiver may be requested under certain conditions.
