Our client, a highly successful and growing Houston personal injury law firm, is seeking an experienced Pre-Litigation Attorney to join its team. This role is ideal for an attorney who has built their career handling personal injury cases in the pre-litigation phase and enjoys negotiating favorable settlements, managing client relationships, and driving cases toward resolution before litigation becomes necessary.
This is not a litigation position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing a personal injury pre-litigation docket and a proven track record of successfully resolving cases through negotiation.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage a high-volume personal injury pre-litigation caseload
- Evaluate liability, damages, medical treatment, and case value
- Develop case strategy and guide matters from intake through settlement
- Draft and review demand packages and settlement communications
- Negotiate directly with insurance adjusters and carriers
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status and strategy
- Work closely with case managers and support staff to maximize case outcomes
- Identify cases that may require litigation and coordinate appropriate handoff when necessary
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing with the Texas Bar
- Minimum 2+ years of personal injury pre-litigation experience
- Demonstrated experience independently handling pre-litigation files from inception through settlement
- Strong settlement negotiation skills with a history of achieving favorable outcomes
- Excellent client-facing communication and relationship management abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Compensation & Benefits
