Senior Project Accountant

The Orange County Department of Education's Administrative Services Division is seeking a skilled and collaborative professional to provide advanced accounting and fiscal support for state, federal, and grant-funded programs. This key role ensures compliance with funding requirements, develops and monitors complex budgets, prepares detailed financial analyses and reports, and partners with program leaders to support fiscal accountability and strategic decision-making. The Senior Project Accountant also serves as a resource to OCDE staff providing guidance on financial reporting, audits, and funding processes. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical and communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to service excellence in support of OCDE's mission to serve students, schools, and communities.

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Five (5) years of accounting experience, including two (2) years in project or grant fund accounting.
