Step into an impactful role supporting students between the ages of 12 and 21 as a contract Physical Therapist in an educational environment. Work closely with a caseload of 8 students, each requiring personalized physical therapy sessions to deliver compensatory time. Hours are flexible, totaling approximately 16 hours per month, offering the chance to maintain work-life balance while making a difference.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Physical Therapist (PT) license, with eligibility to practice in Virginia
• Previous experience in a school setting or with adolescents and young adults preferred
• Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and familiarity with documentation for compensatory services
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with educators, staff, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
• Compassionate, adaptable, and organized with a commitment to student-centered care

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assess student motor skills and develop individualized treatment plans in accordance with IEP goals and compensatory requirements
• Deliver direct physical therapy sessions to support improved function, mobility, and participation in school activities
• Monitor progress, adjust care plans as needed, and maintain accurate documentation on sessions and student outcomes
• Collaborate with special education staff and other service providers to ensure holistic support for each student
• Participate in team meetings as appropriate to review progress and strategize about student needs
