Nurse Supervisor I (S) Job Overview This position is an integral part of the Nursing Department at JFK-ADATC, responsible for providing professional nursing service to patients across an entire shift. The Nurse Supervisor reports directly to the Director of Nursing and operates within the NC Nurse Practice Act and related regulations. Responsibilities Administratively and clinically supervise nursing staff personnel. Oversee daily functioning of the facility, ensuring adequate staffing coverage and guiding staff in their duties. Ensure compliance with the NC Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for nurses, Medical and Nursing Policies, CMS, JCAHO, and state regulations. Provide mentorship, counseling, and feedback to nursing staff on patient care. Effectively communicate information to patients, families, and staff in a concise, descriptive manner, verbally, in writing, or by demonstration. Teach nursing staff through orientation and on‑the‑job training. Work 12‑hour days (6:45 am–7:15 pm) and every other weekend; some holidays may be required. Report or stay over during adverse weather events and other mandatory conditions. Subject to pre‑employment drug testing, criminal record background checks, and the facility’s Vaccination Policy. Qualifications Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina. Minimum two years of nursing experience. Demonstrated knowledge of medications and their physiological effects. Proficiency in leading a team, delegating assignments, and providing guidance to staff.
