Job Description: - Be a part of a compassionate team that values friendly, courteous, and respectful interactions with everyone. - Go the extra mile to assist colleagues, patients, and visitors; if unable to assist, actively find someone who can. - Advocate for patient privacy and confidentiality while ensuring a safe, clean, and healthy environment. - Respond immediately and appropriately in emergency situations. - Ensure compliance with regulations to maintain accreditation and licensure. - Fulfill the Hospital Attendance and Tardiness Policy. - Complete all mandatory requirements timely and effectively. - Report incidents promptly and reliably. - Champion hand hygiene practices to promote patient safety. - Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions and patient goals. - Deliver patient care based on established protocols, policies, and standards of practice. - Respect each patient’s individuality, fostering dignity and positive self-regard. - Provide tailored patient and family education based on learning needs and readiness. - Collaboratively prepare patients and families for discharge, incorporating necessary resources. - Delegate and supervise nursing interventions performed by others appropriately. - Prioritize patient care and seek assistance when needed. - Document all relevant data and therapeutic interventions thoroughly and accurately. - Ensure seamless communication with the health care team regarding patient care. - Promote learning and professional development for colleagues. - Identify and mitigate risks to patient safety, reducing healthcare errors. - Address ethical issues in care proactively. - Administer medications and intravenous therapy safely according to protocols. - Assess and reassess patient pain levels and effectiveness of pain control. - Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technicians to ensure patient well-being. - Maintain sterile fields and ensure proper care of surgical instruments and supplies. - Verify patient identity and consent before procedures. - Apply aseptic practices in all surgical interventions. - Conduct meticulous sponge, needle, and instrument counts per policy. - Handle specimens and cultures with care according to established procedures. Job Requirements: - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. - O.R. nursing experience and CNOR certification strongly preferred. - Current Massachusetts RN license. - ACLS upon hire or active BLS card with AHA ACLS obtained within 60 days. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. - Excellent communication skills and multitasking abilities. Shift Information: - 40-hour work week, 10-hour days with call rotation. Minimum Years of Experience: - Less than 1 year of experience.
